Value alert! We found this easily accessible recent release from Firestone Vineyards to be a fairly priced California Cabernet. Usually we’ll get their Syrah, but this Cabernet offers some excellent qualities…with a new label too! And if your local supermarket is like ours, you’ll get a 30%-40% discount if you buy six bottles. We pick up on some nice black cherry, cola, touch of oak and a hint of green pepper. When we are looking for a bottle to buy, sometimes someone will recommend one, sometimes we see something we’ve read about, but most of the time, we tend to gravitate to the wineries or regions we’ve been to before. We know we can always rely on these Santa Ynez grapes from Firestone Vineyard to fulfill the value side of our wine buying.
