Lompoc, Ca.
A new discovery for us this year was the Lompoc Wine Ghetto, which is located off Highway 246 about 16 miles west of the 101 freeway (from Buellton, Ca). There are many wineries on Highway 246 to make a pit stop at along the way, if needed: Casa Cassara, Dierberg & Star Lane, Foley, Melville and Babcock…making the 16 mile drive well worth it! Or you can also take Santa Rosa Road to Lompoc and stop at Mosby, Alma Rosa, Lafond or Sanford, which are also wineries we’ve enjoyed over the years. The Lompoc Wine Ghetto hosts 18 tasting rooms all in one location with a cool urban/industrial vibe. Flying Goat Cellars is a stand out, highly recommended for Santa Barbara Pinot Noir lovers. All four of their current Pinot Noir releases were mind blowing! And their Goat Bubbles sparkling wine added a special unique touch to the whole experience. Make it a day and check out the Lompoc Wine Ghetto.
Cheers!
